Join artist, Alexandra Desipris, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at LIPS from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM as we celebrate the opening of her solo-exhibition, A COLLAPSED TOWER. 

A COLLAPSED TOWER is an exploration of memory as an act of devotion shown through the form of ritual objects. Memory is a means of survival in an impermanent world, collective memory an act of resistance. Memory is the archive of identity.  

A COLLAPSED TOWER is an assertion that to remember is to be defiant in an era which dictates that we move forward, forget and delete those things which we do not wish to confront, the very things which shape who we are as individuals.

Alexandra Desipris is a painter, sculptor, and researcher of Greek descent based out of Newark, NJ. Her work deals with ideas of identity, history, liminality, finality and the deconstruction of ritual and tradition. For more information on Alexandra Desipris visit www.desiprisalexandra.com. 

Living Incubator Performance Space {LIPS}, www.lipsnewark.com, housed minutes away from Newark Pennstation on the main level of Newark's Gateway Project Spaces located in the Two Gateway Center, www.gatewayprojectspaces.com. We are easily accessible to the local NJ/ NYC community via PATH, NJTRANSIT, and by car.

{LIPS} is located inside the Gateway Project Spaces in the Gateway 2 Building. Directions: From Newark Pennstation, take escalator up to the 2nd floor of Newark Pennstation to the pedestrian walkway. Pass through two pedestrian walkways to Gateway Two Building. {LIPS} is located inside the Gateway Project Spaces located next to the TV station. Driving: Enter through 100 Mulberry Street.
